Greenwood Mic Brings Sunshine to a Grey February Day

Nothing warms us up like a music- and dance-filled assembly.
Greenwood Mic filled the South Gym with dance and music on Monday, February 12.

Hosted by Arts Committee co-executives Fin Burke ‘24 and Lilly Vescio ‘24, the assembly showcased a variety of acts, and once again demonstrated the strength of Greenwood’s arts and music community and programming.

Fin, Mr. Brown and Mr. Stubbs rocked out during a pre-show jam, and the Junior Guitar Club played as everyone exited the gym.


Artist Spotlights were also celebrated at Monday’s assembly. Recipients were nominated by their peers and teachers in recognition of their talent and outstanding contributions to the arts community at Greenwood this year.

Ezmay Ireland ‘25

Ezmay is a leader on the Costume Crew and brings her enthusiasm backstage for all of Greenwood's plays and musicals. She is an excellent problem-solver and takes care in making adjustments to costumes so that they are comfortable for the actors and look great on stage! 

Sienna Loh ‘24 and Georgia Robinson ‘24

Sienna and Georgia have worked backstage on every show at Greenwood since they were in Grade 7. Now in Grade 12, they oversee and manage all of the complexities of the backstage world, ensuring tech and show weeks go smoothly. They have offered countless hours of expertise to Greenwood’s theatre program and their work is deeply appreciated. Pippin will be their final show at Greenwood! 

Austin Perkell ‘24

Austin Perkell, a dedicated member of both the Senior Jazz Band and Pit Band, consistently demonstrates tremendous growth on his instrument—the bass guitar—each year. His level of talent and musicianship, unwavering dedication, and excellent sight-reading abilities contribute significantly to the success of both ensembles, continuously elevating their overall quality. Austin stands as an integral part of the Greenwood music community.
