What a Hoot: A Recap of Holiday Hootenanny

A recap of the results from this year’s Holiday Hootenanny.
The Holiday Hootenanny is an annual tradition at Greenwood where the community competes in fun activities in the week leading up to winter break. A few activities awarded House points, and these count towards the final tally to determine the winning House at the end of the year. Here are the results from this year’s Holiday Hootenanny:

Monday House Event
Houses split into their House Buddy groups and completed activities at stations around the school. The number of completed activities counted towards the final rankings.
  • 1st: Bison
  • Tied for 2nd: Onyx and Lynx
  • 4th: Hawks
Cookie Decorating
Students decorated gingerbread cookies with points awarded for best decorated.
  • 1st: Onyx
  • 2nd: Bison
  • Tied for 3rd: Timberwolves and Trillium
Gingerbread House Competition
Students decorated gingerbread houses with points awarded for decoration and creativity.
  • 1st: Onyx
  • 2nd: Hawks
  • 3rd: Lynx
  • 4th: Bison
Find Hibernating Grizz
Pictures of the sleeping Grizz were hidden in Greenwood. The Houses were challenged to find and locate the photos. The more pictures found, the more points earned.

  • 2nd: Onyx
  • 3rd: Bison
  • 4th: Hawks
Athletic Events
Throughout the week, there were multiple athletic events held where Houses competed to see who would come out on top!
  • 1st: Lynx
  • 2nd: Bison
  • Tied for 3rd: Onyx and Timberwolves
