Grade 11 Leadership Day

Erin Taylor, Communications Officer
The Class of 2019 headed to Gibraltar Point for a day of activities designed to help the class develop their priorities for next year.
While the school year may just have finished, the Grade 11s are already looking towards September. On Wednesday, June 13, Grade 11 students ferried down to the Gibraltar Point on Toronto Island for a full day of workshops and team building activities, working together to determine their goals and priorities for next year.

As they enter Grade 12, they will take on greater leadership roles within the student body. They thought deeply about the impact they want to have and the legacy they want to leave as the Class of 2019.

The activities ranged from fun icebreakers like a Tic-Tac-Toe Relay and the Name Game to discussion groups. The House Executives ran a House game. Students also worked together to plan activities and goals for the Fall OE program.

Over the course of the day, they determined a number of goals for next year. At the top of the list? Making sure all students feel welcome, whether that is in the halls, or on committees, sports teams, or clubs. They also want to do more to make sure that younger students get the best start possible to their Greenwood experience, planning even more events.

After Leadership Day, the Class of 2019 seem confident and ready to take on a leadership role throughout the next school year.
