Who You Become is Infinitely More Important Than What You Become

We have been fortunate to have the opportunity to think critically about what we mean here at Greenwood when we talk about moral character. Doing the right thing for the right reasons takes courage. Our guest speakers and their stories have served as great examples of how to do the right thing. During Pride Week, we heard learned about people like Brenda Howard, who is credited with founding the first-ever Pride Parade as a way of standing up to homophobia and bigotry. Hedy Bohm told us how she survived the Holocaust and shares this story as a means of fighting anti-Semitism and ignorance. Mike Downie through his work on The Secret Path shed some light on Canada’s neglect of its Indigenous people and urged us to do what we can to help improve their lives.
