Greenwood parent and celebrated photographer and filmmaker Edward Burtynsky recently received an Arbor Award from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
The Arbor Awards are given to individuals who have shown outstanding generosity and service to OISE and the University of Toronto.
Along with fellow award winners Silvia Birsan, Karen Edge, Kirk Perris and Diane Pitblado, and Professor and OISE Dean Julia O’Sullivan (who joined the Greenwood Board of Directors this year), Ed was recognized in a special reception last month.
One of Canada’s leading photographers, he has been involved with the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study (Jackman ICS) since 2007. His generous and ongoing support of the school's Natural Curiosity Environmental Education Initiative has helped make it an invaluable resource for elementary schools across Ontario and various faculties of education programs.
