Micah Laskin (’14) was granted a Loran Semi-finalist Award by the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation for his exceptional academic and leadership achievements.
The Loran Scholars Program identifies and supports exceptional young Canadians who demonstrate character, service and leadership. Out of over 3,500 applicants, fewer than 360 hopefuls were interviewed and only 198 received a Semi-finalist Award this year. The Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation, which administers the Loran Scholars Program, grants scholarships based on a combination of academic excellence, extracurricular work and leadership potential.
Micah was also the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award (which recognizes an exemplary volunteer among the graduating students in each of Ontario’s secondary schools) at this year’s Celebration Day.
Congratulations on your achievements, Micah, and thanks for your tremendous service to the community!
