Elly Rosenbaum ('14) describes his experience at the DECA Ontario provincial competition.
On Monday, February 11, and Tuesday, February 12, the small but mighty Greenwood DECA team competed in the DECA Ontario provincial competition. DECA is an international business case competition with categories in marketing, finance, ethics, human resources and merchandising. DECA Ontario is one of the biggest delegations worldwide, with over 3,000 participants.
Eight Greenwood students competed in partners or as individuals over the two days. On Monday, they received a case in their category. They had 10-30 minutes to prepare their response, then 15 minutes to present it to a judge. On Tuesday, each student wrote a test based on their category before a very extravagant award ceremony. Although Greenwood Students didn’t make it to the international competition in California, they all set personal bests.
We would like to thank our two amazing advisers, Ms. Lucas and Mr. Bocking, and we look forward to many new Greenwood participants next year.
