Student Success Centre

To experience how differentiated instruction comes to life at Greenwood, look no further than the Student Success Centre — a constant hub of activity, from Breakfast Club in the morning through to homework sessions after school.

As a year-round learning hub for students and faculty, the Success Centre is central to the larger workings of the school. The Student Success Centre staff are integral to the Admissions process, ensuring that Greenwood can meet the needs of the mosaic of learners admitted to each class. Throughout a student’s academic career, the Success Centre is the place where theory and practice come together:

  • Greenwood students meet, study and seek faculty resources to help with organization, enrichment or learning support.
  • Students pursue learning activities that complement their learning styles, interests and skills — enabling them to succeed to the best of their abilities.
  • Enrichment activities such as provincial mathematics competitions, robotics tournaments and the Advanced Placement program ensure that every student is challenged appropriately.
  • Faculty members collaborate regularly with Success Centre staff to determine the best ways to reach, schedule and accommodate particular students.
  • Teacher Advisers weigh in on how a student’s social integration affects learning success.
  • Student Services staff draw on Success Centre resources to prepare students to advocate for their own needs at the post-secondary level.

The Student Success Centre provides a supportive environment where students can meet the requirements, overcome the challenges and embrace the opportunities introduced by learning differences. It offers every student the tools — and, by extension, the confidence — to understand their own learning.
