Greenwood is innovative in its use of technology to deliver on our commitment to differentiated learning. Software on student laptops allow them to research, simulate, create and present in a variety of media to enhance their learning. Blackboard, Greenwood’s intranet, and classroom SmartBoards cater to the different styles and needs of learners, especially those who can benefit from information presented in several formats.

  • Creates an active, supportive learning community for each student
  • Encourages collaboration and discussion among students within and between classes in a monitored online environment
  • Provide feedback with online quizzes and surveys
  • Enables parents to view homework assignments and upcoming tests and activities
  • Lists school announcements, newsletters and extra-curricular activities


CLASSROOM SMARTBOARD

  • Links teachers’ laptops with the classroom through an electronic whiteboard
  • Offers teachers the ability to demonstrate, compute and interact with the class
  • Document’s classroom notes and learning for students to review at a later time
  • Promotes active contributions from students that can be included in the lesson

Greenwood has also invested in several extensive online resources. This virtual library offers students highly specialized access to encyclopedias, newspapers, magazines, journals and indices. With a strong emphasis on using technology as a learning tool, Greenwood students develop the research and information skills required for our increasingly technology-driven world.
