Grade 9-12 Program
Students in Grades 9 – 12 continue to experience integrated, differentiated and experiential learning within the framework of a curriculum based on Ministry of Education requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
In addition, Grade 9 – 12 students can:
- Choose from a range of electives, uncommonly broad for a school of Greenwood’s size.
- Participate in the US College Board’s Advancement Placement program in select subjects to enrich their academic experience and prepare for university.
- Access the resources of the Student Success Centre for learning support, time management and organizational skills
Along with academics, a Greenwood education incorporates:
- A physical education credit for all students in Grades 9 through 12
- The Outdoor Leadership Program, which offers course credits and is part of the school curriculum
- A firm commitment to community service that results in students well exceeding the 40 hours of community service required by the Ontario Ministry of Education for graduation
- Every student is also a member of a Teacher Adviser Group (TAG), in which one teacher supervises a small group of students and oversees their academic, social and extracurricular development. The Teacher Adviser also becomes the family’s main contact for school related academic issues.
